4th Trimester Sling Hire Scheme
You will have heard about the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Trimesters during your pregnancy so you may be wondering what the 4th Trimester is.
During the precious first three months after your baby is born they are adjusting to the new world around them, during this time they need you the most and want to remain in the safety and reassurance of their carers arms. Some people may describe this as being clingy but it is completely natural and instinctive to babies, you care for their every need and keep them safe so they want you to remain close.
A baby carrier can create a gentle transition into the world during the 4th Trimester, they keep your baby close where they can hear your familiar heartbeat and the gentle movement that they were used to in the womb which is naturally comforting so they cry less and go into a deeper sleep.
For a parent it is a great comfort to have your baby close and content. You notice when they start ‘fussing’ and can meet their needs sooner preventing them from crying as much and you gain confidence in yourself faster helping create a strong bond between you and your baby.
To find out more about the 4th Trimester and creating a secure attachment between you and your infant , Secure Attachment and the "Fourth Trimester" is a very informative article by Dr Rosie Knowles who is very experienced and highly regarded in the world of Babywearing.
