1 – Online Registration for Loans
- To hire a carrier you will be required to register for an account via https://burtonandswadlincotenaturalparents.myturn.com/library/. This account will require up to date and accurate contact details.
- Your personal details will be kept in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulations 2018 and will only be used to contact you in relation to your loan.
- All nappy kits are lent subject to availability, condition and suitability.
- The standard loan period for a Birth to Potty Nappy Kit is two weeks at a cost of £15.00.
- The standard loan period for a Newborn Kit is two weeks at a cost of £15 for 2 weeks, £25.00 for 6 weeks or £40.00 for 12 weeks
- Cloth Nappy Kits require a deposit of £50.00, Reusable Wipes Kits require a deposit of £20.00.
- Deposits can be paid by cash, card, Paypal, or bank transfer. When you have returned your hired kit complete and in a satisfactory condition we are able to refund your deposit.
- Your debit/credit card details are held via our payment gateway Stripe whilst you have Cloth Nappy Kit on hire. Your card details are not passed directly to us at any time and we do not have access to them. When you have returned your hired kit we are able to remove your debit/credit card from the online system.
- The deposit is to cover Burton & Swadlincote Natural Parents Cloth Nappy Library against loss or minor damage to individual items within the kits, such as wipes, liners, booster or specific nappies.
- The replacement of any lost nappies, accessories or manuals will be charged to the debit/credit card attached to your account, unless other arrangements are agreed. Charges for lost components will be equal to replacement cost including any postage costs. Charges for items damaged beyond normal wear and tear will be judged on a case by case basis. Lost Manuals will be charged at the rate of £5.00.
- In the event that you abscond with the kit, the deposit will be used to lodge a claim against you in the Small Claims Court.
- You acknowledge that you are aware that the items hired to you in your kit are likely to have been previously used. Occasionally there may be new items in kits, but as we are a lending library, the vast majority are used items.
- Each kit is carefully inspected and thoroughly cleaned before issue at the start of the hire term by the Nappy Librarian. In the event that there is any problem with the hired nappies, please notify us immediately at the start of the hire period.
- Burton & Swadlincote Natural Parents Cloth Nappy Library endeavour's to offer support and guidance on the correct and effective use of the reusable nappies. However, you agree that the Library cannot be held responsible for any loss, injury, or damage caused by any of the items we have loaned you, in the event that you do not follow our advice.
- Burton & Swadlincote Natural Parents Cloth Nappy Library does not assume liability for any issues arising from the misuse of any hired nappies. You also hereby agree that we are not responsible for any faulty product, due to the inclusion of used items in the kits.
- Burton & Swadlincote Natural Parents Cloth Nappy Library does not guarantee or make claims of the efficacy, successful or otherwise of any particular brand or style of nappy or accessories, due to the extreme variability in shape and size of babies, as well as variability inherent in the process of using reusable nappies itself.
- You agree that you will only wash the nappies as per the written Laundry Guidelines. If you are unsure about how best to wash the nappies in your own machine, you will contact the Nappy Librarian for further advice.
- Use the Fleece Liners supplied in the kit in every nappy to prevent staining.
- If you need to apply barrier creams please consult the Cloth Safe Nappy Creams information in the manual and do not use any creams that aren't listed. Please use a disposable nappy in cases where you do not have cloth safe creams available. Any nappies returned damaged from improper use of creams will be charged a replacement cost from your deposit.
- Under no circumstances will you use bleach, Vanish, vinegar, or essential oils on Library nappies. In the event that there are any laundering issues with the hired nappies please consult the Nappy Librarian in the first instance.
- Mild staining to clean nappies will not affect the return of your deposit, as the nappies will be washed and sanitised after return. Slight wear and tear as a condition of use is normal & to be expected.
- Everything borrowed must be returned clean and checked for damage. Please report any damaged or lost items or excessive staining (e.g. from a non-colourfast colour run) when you return the kit.
- We recommend, though it is not essential, the use of a laundry mesh bag to wash wraps or small items such as wipes.
- Nappy kits must be returned on time, unless by prior agreement. It is your responsibility to return your kit to the library. Please check that all items on the Kit Inventory in the Manual are present prior to returning.
- It is sometimes possible to renew your loan for an additional two week period (unless the kit is reserved), with payment made via Paypal or taking payment with stored credit/debit cards stored on our payment gateway Stripe. Please email [email protected] to arrange a loan extension. Extension fees for Cloth Nappy Kits are £10.00 for a two week period, Reusable Wipes Kits can be extended in two week periods for £5.00.
- If you return your loaned kit after the agreed date, WITHOUT ARRANGING AN EXTENSION we will charge £1.00 per day late fees for every day past the agreed returns due date until the date that you contact us and agree a resolution.
- Under adverse or unforeseen circumstances we may reduce or waive fines for late returns as long as the late period is less than 7 days and has been agreed by us before the end of the loan period (this allows for things like postage delays).
- If for any reason, we are unable to deduct extension/late fees via your credit/debit card, we will send you a PayPal invoice for the outstanding amount. This is payable on receipt & if it remains unpaid after 14 days, we reserve the right to report the kit as stolen and proceed to Small Claims Court to recover the unpaid amount & associated costs.
- If we do not hear from you within 30 days from the end of your original loan period, we will consider the kit lost and charge your card for the full retail price of the complete kit up to £400.00.
- If the kit is still not returned & invoice remains unpaid, we will report the kit as stolen to the Police and proceed to reclaiming the cost via Small Claims Court. Should a hire escalate to Small Claims Court we will seek to recoup the full RRP cost of the hire kit, court costs and admin expenses.
- If you are unable to return your hired kit by the agreed date due to Library staff illness or holidays, we will extend your loan period for free and agree a new returns due date with you.
